This circuit simulation illustrates waveform shaping from a square wave to a sine-like wave using passive components. A 1 kHz square wave input is applied to an LC low-pass filter formed by a 50 mH inductor and a 1 µF capacitor. The filter attenuates higher harmonics of the square wave, allowing mainly the fundamental frequency to pass through. As a result, the output waveform becomes smoother and more sinusoidal.
